Jewels of Spanish colonial architecture, Havana took its architectural development in the 17th century with the aristocratic families settled in the Caribbean and then in the late 19th century with the founding families of the first Cuban cigar factory. Its architecture has remained preserved from the ravages of modernism and buildings with colors faded by time, are evidence of the splendor of the Spanish imprint.
